Dillon, Val's Nephew

Greetings to you all in the mighty and wonderful name of Jesus Christ our risen Lord and Savior, in whom we have redemption, salvation, the forgiveness of sins and even life eternal! Blessings to you in the name of him who lives forever and ever, Amen! It is truly a joy to write this letter unto you all! It is with joy in my heart that I remember my first trip to McDowell county just three years ago. Valerie, who is my aunt, invited me to go and I accepted. Though I wasn't a Christian at the time I was looking for an adventure and God had his hand on my life even though I didn't know him!

I remember praying and reading the Bible and not really understanding it but still being polite and trying to understand. God is so patient with us! I thought Jesus was a pretty cool guy and all but didn't realize he rose from the dead and is alive today. I accepted Jesus as my King about 2 months after that trip and since then my life has been a fulfilling adventure. Praise be to God!

The things you will see in McDowell will give you a new perspective of God's earth. Serve with all your heart and strength and don't complain! Be thankful. Someday you might be looking back at the events that are about to take place seeing a little more than you see now. There is a reason you are on this trip. There is a reason you are alive! Renew yourselves every day in the Lord and in his word.

To those of you that have faith and hope, display the patience that Christ has with you! And thus be a shining light. Do not hide your faith! To those of you who lack faith and hope, be encouraged! The Lord sees you and loves you passionately. What ever it is that lies between you and him, whether it be your pride, or your pain, he is willing and ready to receive every bit of you. Do not fear his love!

I'm really excited for you all! And I hope and pray that every single one of you will enjoy the fellowship of my lovely and blessed Aunt Val! Don't be a stranger! I will be praying every day while you are on your trip, that you are safe and that God's work gets done in and through you! Seriously, Be blessed! You are victors in Christ! "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." (Romans 1:16)
